Registered Nurse - CVICU
About The Position
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This high acuity CCU requires CVICU experience. The contract is for 16 weeks, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. The start date is 3-4 weeks out. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. Clinicians will float within their service line to meet facility needs when necessary. Locals are not accepted, and the home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility. Pending licenses are accepted. Time off restrictions allow for up to 2 requests, not exceeding a total of 40 hours (5 days) during the contract. Guaranteed hours are 36.
Requirements
- 2 years of Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience required.
- ACLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- Must pass Relias EKG exam.
- No neuro experience required.
- Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.

Responsibilities
- Manage patients requiring CVICU care.
- Perform ventilator management.
- Manage arterial lines.
- Manage pulmonary artery catheters.
- Manage pacemakers.
- Manage Impellas.
- Manage balloon pumps.
- Manage LVADs.
- Care for patients with acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, fluid overload, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, and arrhythmias, including ventricular tachycardia.
- Administer vasoactive drips.
- Manage central lines.
- Monitor PA/TVP catheters.
- Assist with Dialysis.
- Manage Foley catheters.
- Manage intra-aortic balloon pumps.
- Manage LVADs.
- Manage Impella devices.
- Float within the CVICU service line to meet facility needs when required.
