About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The role requires high acuity Critical Care Unit (CCU) experience with a specific focus on CVICU. The nurse will be responsible for managing patients with complex cardiac conditions, including acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, fluid overload, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, arrhythmias, and ventricular tachycardia. Key responsibilities include ventilator management, arterial line management, pulmonary artery catheter management, pacemaker management, and care for patients with Impellas, balloon pumps, and LVADs. The nurse will also manage vasoactive drips, central lines, PA/TVP catheter monitoring, dialysis, and foley insertion. The position requires passing a Relias EKG exam.

Requirements

• 2 years of Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience required.
• Must have Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience.
• No neuro experience required.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Must be able to manage ventilators.
• Must be able to manage arterial lines.
• Must be able to manage pulmonary artery catheters.
• Must be able to manage pacemakers.
• Must be able to care for patients with Impellas, balloon pumps, and LVADs.
• Must be able to manage vasoactive drips.
• Must be able to manage central lines.
• Must be able to monitor PA/TVP catheters.
• Must be able to perform dialysis.
• Must be able to insert and manage foley catheters.
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
• Pending License accepted.

Nice To Haves

• 16 weeks preferred contract length.
• First-timers not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Manage high acuity CVICU patients.
• Provide care for patients with acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, fluid overload, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, arrhythmias, and ventricular tachycardia.
• Perform ventilator management.
• Manage arterial lines.
• Manage pulmonary artery catheters.
• Manage pacemakers.
• Care for patients with Impellas, balloon pumps, and LVADs.
• Administer vasoactive drips.
• Manage central lines.
• Monitor PA/TVP catheters.
• Perform dialysis.
• Insert and manage foley catheters.
• Float within the CVICU service line to meet facility needs when necessary.
• Pass a Relias EKG exam.
