About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time (36 hours per week) Registered Nurse Coordinator at our Broadway Medical - Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Clinic in Northeast Portland. This role involves working collaboratively with patient-focused colleagues and physicians to deliver high-value, tailored care with kindness and empathy. You will be a key player in ensuring an efficient and easy experience for patients and stakeholders, contributing to the clinic's mission of world-class care. The position requires excellent customer service and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Current Oregon state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Healthcare experience is a plus!
  • ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Epic experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients under the direction of a Physician(s) and within their scope of practice according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Work directly with physicians and staff in coordinating excellent patient care.
  • Function as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Perform patient assessment and triage either in person or over the phone.
  • Properly document all encounters for provider review, flagging any urgent concerns.
  • Perform clinical care in accordance with nursing standards within the specialty; may include taking vitals, recording and verifying medications, wound care, phlebotomy, injections, administering oral and/or IV medications and treatments.
  • Provide patient and families health education.
  • Order prescription refills according to clinic protocol.
  • Assist physicians with procedures according to prescribed standards.
  • Anticipate the needs of the physician.
  • Order and maintain medical inventory of supplies as needed.
  • Check emergency medication and IV trays regularly.
  • Support the QA/QI process.
  • Cross-train in multiple areas, or be assigned additional clinic duties (i.e., supply management, safety coordinator, etc.).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Act as a resource regarding workflow, policies and procedures, training new and existing staff and assist in evaluating staff efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in coordinating daily rooming assignments, cross coverage, and coverage assistance throughout the day.
  • Other duties as assigned.
