About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Clinical Lead in the Med Surg department at Ascension St John Medical Center in Tulsa, Ok. The position is full-time with a weekend option. The Clinical Lead will be responsible for assigning, educating, and monitoring nursing and support associates during their shifts, exercising independent judgment to plan shifts, services, and patient care. They will assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute patient care assignments, and ensure population-appropriate care is provided. The lead will also manage patient care complaints, provide input on hiring and staff development, facilitate resource availability, and coordinate unit staffing to ensure the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns direct, educate and monitor nursing and support associates during assigned shifts.
  • Exercises independent judgment to plan the shifts, services, and patient care.
  • Assess daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments.
  • Ensures that population appropriate patient care is given.
  • Accountable for maintaining productivity standards and justifying variances to unit manager or designee.
  • Respond to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
  • Provide input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
  • Facilitate availability of adequate material, resources and supplies.
  • Set priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics.
  • Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned areas.
