About The Position

The Telemetry Charge Registered Nurse oversees nursing operations on the telemetry unit, coordinating staff assignments, managing patient care, and ensuring safe, continuous cardiac monitoring. The role serves as both a clinical expert and team leader, responding to emergencies, facilitating communication, and supporting patients and staff. This is a full-time, day-shift position with 12-hour shifts at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Competency in Sedation Monitoring within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• Current PALS certification upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• One to two years of previous supervisory experience in an acute-care hospital Surgical OR setting.
• Minimum of five years of experience in an acute-care operating room.
• CNOR certification within two years.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Assign nursing staff to patients based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload.
• Monitor overall telemetry-unit operations during the shift to ensure workflow efficiency and patient safety.
• Provide hands-on care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients when needed, including administering medications and treatments.
• Interpret cardiac telemetry strips, identify arrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions or escalations.
• Serve as the primary resource for clinical issues, staff concerns, and resource shortages during the shift.
