About The Position

The Neuro Telemetry Charge Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center oversees a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Requirements

• Two years of RN experience within the applicable clinical specialty.
• Associate degree in Nursing, nursing diploma, or foreign equivalent.
• Arizona Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within six months.
• Accountability and confidence.
• Strong communication skills in one-to-one interactions and group settings.
• Comfort with holding difficult conversations and responsibility for staff and unit performance.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Charge Nurse experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients.
• Advocate for fellow nurses and support their professional development in alignment with department operational goals and objectives.
• Mentor staff in competency, documentation, equipment use, plans of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in in-service education.
• Evaluate care provided by staff.
• Coach staff to improve care.
• Ensure standards of care are maintained.
• Understand and coordinate the process for addressing ethical dilemmas and obtaining an Ethics Consult.
