About The Position

The Charge Registered Nurse oversees the total health care delivery system in an assigned nursing unit. This includes collecting and evaluating health status data; nursing diagnosis; goal setting; planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; and directly supervising patient teaching. The Charge RN ensures ancillary personnel perform only services for which they are qualified and is accountable for the overall quality of patient care in the assigned unit. The role also involves coordinating care with other departments, monitoring nursing services, supporting staff orientation and training, coordinating staffing levels, and maintaining the unit’s cleanliness, equipment, and supplies. The position is available only to people who reside in the United States.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee the health care delivery system in the assigned unit, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and coordinate patient care with other departments.
Monitor nursing services, maintain accurate records, identify potential problems, and propose corrective actions as needed.
Assist with staff orientation, training, and evaluations, and coordinate staffing levels to meet contractual requirements.
Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit, and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies.
Maintain a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
Directly supervise patient teaching and ensure ancillary personnel perform only services for which they are qualified.
Collect and evaluate health status data; conduct nursing diagnosis and goal setting; and plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
