About The Position

This role involves overseeing nursing and support staff during shifts, assessing patient care needs, developing strategic assignments, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The charge nurse acts as a first line of defense for patient care complaints and works to resolve issues impacting patient outcomes.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required.
Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year previous charge nurse experience.
At least 1 year ICU experience.

Responsibilities

Assign, direct, and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts.
Provide valuable input on hiring, training, and development.
Assist with or perform staff performance evaluations.
Assess daily patient care needs to develop and distribute strategic assignments.
Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and population-appropriate patient care.
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of patient care across the unit.
Proactively identify and resolve issues that impact desired patient outcomes.
Respond to patient care complaints and efficiently manage them through established organizational channels.
