About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit on the 7th floor, Cohort 30. This night shift position involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The role requires effective communication with the healthcare team, collaboration on patient goals, and evaluation of progress. Nurses are encouraged to pursue professional growth through learning activities. The unit cares for a diverse cardiac patient population, including those with Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac procedures, complex medical conditions, and peritoneal dialysis patients. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment offering opportunities for skill expansion in cardiac assessment, telemetry interpretation, patient prioritization, critical thinking, and progressive care nursing.

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.

Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
