About The Position
As the leading (and largest) free-standing psychiatric hospital in Georgia, Peachford is here to help. We are looking for Registered Nurses who have experience or an interest in Mental Health Nursing to help us on our mission to meet the needs of our community. Charge Nurse roles are also available. Peachford has been a leader in behavioral health and addictive disease treatment since 1973. Our 246 bed hospital treats nearly 10,000 children, adults and seniors every year who come seeking the best psychiatric care available. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated and committed to providing the highest level of compassionate care. Our hospital is located on a 38 acre wooded campus in the Dunwoody neighborhood of North Atlanta and over 500 incredibly talented employees trust their mental health career to Peachford and call Peachford home.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Prefer one year of nursing experience
- State of Georgia or eCompact MultiState Nursing License
Responsibilities
- REGISTERED NURSE & Charge Nurse– RN -Full-Time
- RN STAFF:
- Monday-Thursday -3-11p
- Tuesday-Friday -11p-7a
- Baylor 7p-7a (Fri/Sat/Sun)
- Charge RN - weekday only and Baylor options available
- Mental Health/Psychiatric/Behavioral Health/Addictive Disease
- An understanding of mental illness and its effects on an individual
- An understanding of addiction and it's effect on the lives of those affected by it
- Ability to interact with individuals of all cognitive levels and various histories of trauma
- Desire to consult with patients and to advocate for their care
- Ability to maintain healthy boundaries – we are here to help, not to befriend
- Patience and understanding
- Ability to verbally de-escalate agitated patients
- Supportive of teamwork – it takes a village to do the work we do
- A strong understanding of the importance of following rules and policies
- Above all, the desire and ability to keep our patients safe
