This position is applicable to part-time and full-time staff only. Under the supervision of the RN Supervisor, the Registered Nurse provides integrated behavioral and physical healthcare, including managing medication, assessing and coordinating physical/medical care, and providing direct services within the Crisis Care Center. The role is responsible for the orderly administration and maintenance of medication both within Crisis Services and the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Duties include a variety of supportive services and direct interventions with consumers experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders and Developmental Disabilities who are in crisis, needing stabilization. The nurse may render general nursing care and provide medical support in accordance with approved nursing practices. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to: providing information and assistance specific to the area of assignment, performing admissions screening on new consumers, serving as agency liaison, performing crisis intervention activities, providing case management, providing patient education, and supporting all programs within the Crisis Care Center. The Registered Nurse is responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
