About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care for outpatient patients of all ages with diverse medical and nursing diagnoses. This role involves performing various procedures such as dressing changes, assisting with ambulation, and supporting activities of daily living. The nurse will administer prescribed medications and vaccines, perform respiratory treatments, and manage oxygen therapy. Additionally, the role includes fitting assistive devices like splints or durable medical equipment, performing urinary catheter placements, collecting biological samples, venipuncture, and assisting in minor procedures using aseptic techniques. The Registered Nurse is responsible for initiating treatments, administering medications, and performing emergency and resuscitative measures. Collaboration with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals is essential for coordinating patient care regimens.

Requirements

  • Must have completed an accredited nursing program at the associate or bachelor's level and passed the NCLEX-RN exam.
  • Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
  • Valid American Heart Association certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, with a focus on medical-surgical in-patient specialties and acute care units.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care for outpatient patients of all ages with diverse medical and nursing diagnoses.
  • Perform dressing changes, assist with ambulation, and support activities of daily living.
  • Administer prescribed medications and vaccines.
  • Perform respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, and fit assistive devices like splints or durable medical equipment.
  • Perform urinary catheter placements, collect tissue and biological samples, venipuncture for blood samples, and assist in setting up minor procedures using aseptic techniques.
  • Initiate treatments, administer medications, and perform emergency and resuscitative measures.
  • Consult with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients.
