About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care for outpatient patients of all ages with diverse medical and nursing diagnoses. This role involves performing various procedures such as dressing changes, assisting with ambulation, administering medications and vaccines, and providing respiratory treatments. The nurse will also be responsible for fitting assistive devices, performing urinary catheter placements, collecting biological samples, and assisting with minor procedures. Collaboration with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals is essential for coordinating patient care.

Requirements

  • Must have completed an accredited nursing program at the associate or bachelor's level.
  • Must have passed the NCLEX-RN exam.
  • Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
  • Valid American Heart Association certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, with a focus on medical-surgical in-patient specialties and acute care units.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for outpatient patients of all ages with diverse medical and nursing diagnoses.
  • Perform dressing changes.
  • Assist with ambulation.
  • Support activities of daily living.
  • Administer prescribed medications and vaccines.
  • Perform respiratory treatments and oxygen therapy.
  • Fit assistive devices like splints or durable medical equipment.
  • Perform urinary catheter placements.
  • Collect tissue and biological samples.
  • Perform venipuncture for blood samples.
  • Assist in setting up minor procedures using aseptic techniques.
  • Initiate treatments, administer medications, and perform emergency and resuscitative measures.
  • Consult with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients.
