About The Position

This position primarily assists residents who are physically, functionally, and/or socially impaired and require 24-hour supervision. The role encourages residents’ independence and freedom of choice while assisting with activities of daily living they may not be able to perform independently. No advanced nursing degree is required. The posting lists a full-time evening-shift schedule and a part-time, every-other-weekend schedule for CNA/DCA staff. It also lists the hours as “2 PM -10 AM.” Compensation is $17.99–$23.66 based on experience, plus a $2.00-per-hour shift premium. Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
Must have a Certified Nursing Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a Direct Care Staff Certificate, or have completed an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant Training program.
Current Medication Administration License in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or ability to obtain it within 90 days from course completion.
CPR and First-Aid certified, or obtain certifications at VMRC within 60 days of employment.
Ability to work some flexible hours and participate in holiday activities.
Ability to speak, understand, and carry out oral and written assignments in English.
Self-motivated, with the ability to perform duties independently with limited supervision.
Willingness to be flexible and accommodate changing priorities.
Ability to work closely and professionally with staff, residents, and families, and to be diplomatic in resident and coworker relations.
Ability to act and intervene independently in routine and emergency situations.
