About The Position

The Registered Dietitian develops, implements, and promotes quality, evidence-based nutrition care to meet the needs of patients in acute care and, as assigned, outpatient settings. The position supports facility and department initiatives to maintain quality care for inpatients and outpatients, and supports community events that promote health and improve the nutrition status of the communities served by Hackensack Meridian Health. Using the Nutrition Care Process, the Registered Dietitian gathers and interprets appropriate patient data, develops and implements evidence-based medical nutrition therapy interventions and care plans, and monitors outcomes. The role also provides nutrition education or counseling as appropriate and participates as a member of the patient's healthcare team.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or a related field.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential within 60 days of entering the position.

Responsibilities

Use the Nutrition Care Process to develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based medical nutrition therapy interventions for assigned patients.
Obtain, analyze, and interpret appropriate data using evidence-based guidelines.
Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition interventions and care plans.
Monitor progress by evaluating patient outcomes.
Provide nutrition education and/or counseling as appropriate.
Actively participate as a member of the healthcare team caring for the patient.
Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Support facility and department initiatives to maintain quality care for inpatients and outpatients.
Support community events to promote health and improve community nutrition status.
