Part-Time Registered Dietitian

About The Position

HHS is seeking a friendly, compassionate Registered Dietitian to join the culinary team at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, North Carolina. The dietitian guides patients, families, and facility staff on medical nutrition therapy and works with physicians and nurses to support patient satisfaction and quality care that meets individual nutritional needs. This is a part-time role scheduled for 20 hours per week, with a starting rate of $35 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a dietitian license as required by state regulations.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
Knowledge of regulatory standards.
Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software.
Ability to interact with individuals of all backgrounds.
Effective written, spoken, and non-verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Complete nutritional assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for inpatient and outpatient care.
Educate patients, families, nursing staff, food service staff, and other facility staff about nutritional needs.
Document patient assessments, nutritional goals, and interventions in medical records.
Communicate patients’ nutritional status to physicians and clinical staff.
Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements.
Attend patient rounds and maintain clinical nutrition policies to support regulatory compliance.
