About The Position

HHS is hiring a part-time Registered Dietitian for Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, North Carolina. The role provides medical nutrition therapy to inpatient and outpatient patients and guidance to patients, families, and facility staff. The dietitian works with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to support patient satisfaction, quality care, and each patient's nutritional needs. The position is 20 hours per week, with a starting rate of $35 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration credentials.
Licensed dietitian as required by state regulations.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
Knowledge of regulatory standards.
Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software.
Ability to interact with individuals of all backgrounds.
Effective written, spoken, and non-verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Complete nutritional assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for inpatient and outpatient care.
Educate patients, families, nursing staff, food service, and other facility staff about nutritional needs.
Document patient assessments, nutritional goals, and interventions in the medical record.
Communicate patients’ nutritional status to physicians and clinical staff.
Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements.
Attend patient rounds.
Maintain clinical nutrition policies to support regulatory compliance.
