Part-Time Registered Dietitian

About The Position

HHS is seeking a friendly, compassionate Registered Dietitian to join the culinary team at Highpoint Health-Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas. The role guides patients, families, and facility staff on medical nutrition therapy to help create a healthy and healing environment. The dietitian builds relationships with physicians and nurses to support patient satisfaction and quality care that meets each patient’s nutritional needs. This position is part-time, works 20 hours per week, and has a starting rate of $35 per hour.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed dietitian as required by state regulations.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field.
Knowledge of regulatory standards.
Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software.
Ability to interact with individuals of all backgrounds.
Effective written, spoken, and non-verbal communication.

Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize projects and needs effectively.

Responsibilities

Complete nutritional assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for inpatient and outpatient care.
Educate patients, families, nursing staff, food service staff, and other facility staff about nutritional needs.
Document patient assessments, nutritional goals, and interventions in the medical record.
Communicate patients’ nutritional status to physicians and clinical staff.
Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements.
Attend patient rounds and maintain clinical nutrition policies to support regulatory compliance.
