About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join their Health Services department. This part-time role involves working in various residential and day program settings in Rochester, NY, focusing on fostering independence, dignity, and respect for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position offers a starting wage of $25.65 - $27.70 per hour and requires 8-12 hours per week.

Requirements

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) license.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and regulatory standards required.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve rotating menus to ensure nutritional adequacy and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct nutritional assessments and develop individualized dietary care plans.
• Create and monitor therapeutic diets for medical conditions including diabetes, dysphagia, and food allergies.
• Conduct mealtime observations to ensure diet orders and safe eating practices are followed.
• Train and educate staff on nutrition, portion control, and safe food preparation.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in line with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support person-centered care planning.
• Promote health education and lifelong healthy eating habits for individuals and caregivers.
