About The Position

Rome Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join its Food and Nutrition staff. The role requires understanding diet office procedures and applying dietetic principles and procedures to plan nutritional care using appropriate criteria. The Registered Dietitian provides nutritional counseling to patients and their families, documents appropriately in medical records, and communicates dietetic practices, principles, and theories to medical personnel. The position also involves knowledge of modified diets, dietary restrictions, and the nutritional needs of clients with various medical conditions.

The position is full-time. A Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian are required. A New York State CDN is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition.
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian.
• Understanding of diet office procedures.
• Knowledge of dietetic principles and procedures.
• Ability to use appropriate criteria to plan nutritional care standards.
• Ability to provide nutritional counseling for patients and their families.
• Knowledge and ability to make appropriate entries in medical records.
• Knowledge and verbal ability to communicate dietetic practices, principles, and theories to medical personnel.
• Knowledge of modified diets and dietary restrictions.
• Knowledge of the needs of clients with various medical conditions.
• Registered Dietitian license/registration required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) in New York State.
