About The Position

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Registered Dietitian for its multidisciplinary Clinical Nutrition team at Arthur M. Blank Hospital. The position floats among inpatient units, including intensive care units and general pediatrics. The dietitian participates as an interdisciplinary patient-care team member, providing nutritional services and education to meet the needs of the identified patient population in keeping with the medical center’s mission and values. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered to the right candidate.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Medical Dietetics, or a related field.
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Georgia dietitian licensure.
If the dietitian does not currently hold the RD and/or LD credential, obtain it within three months of hire.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Pediatric nutrition experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
Experience with pediatric populations.

Responsibilities

Determine nutritional assessments using age- and developmentally appropriate standards.
Recommend appropriate medical nutrition therapy for assigned patients, evaluate their response, and determine whether therapy should change.
Educate patients and families about nutritional therapy using age-appropriate developmental standards; involve family members or caregivers in patient care and tailor education to learning needs.
Advise groups on pediatric nutritional therapy and community nutrition as required.
Follow departmental standards for documenting work-related activities.
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Direct and evaluate dietetic interns and students.
Maintain professional development responsibilities.
Perform other duties as required, including departmental committee participation and annual competencies.
