About The Position

Freedom Pointe at The Villages is a Continuing Care Retirement Community offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Rehab. The Registered Dietician evaluates patients’ nutrition status and risk, develops and initiates medical nutrition therapy when indicated, and educates patients and families about nutrition. The role works as part of the health care team to communicate individual nutritional care plans to other providers. The position is based at the community in The Villages, Florida.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Dietician.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
• Certification in safety and sanitation related to food service.
• Experience performing clinical assessments on residents, meeting with the Care Plan Team, and providing input on MDS.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients’ nutrition status and screen for nutritional risk in accordance with department protocols and standards.
• Plan and initiate medical nutrition therapy when indicated by patient requirements and clinical protocol.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on nutritional issues individually or in groups.
• Communicate individual nutritional care plans to other health care providers as a member of the health care team.
• Perform clinical assessments on residents, meet with the Care Plan Team, and provide input on MDS.
