About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Dietitian to join a 5-star pediatric skilled nursing facility in Ossining, NY. The dietitian will provide individualized nutritional care to children and young adults with complex medical and developmental needs, supporting growth, recovery, and overall well-being as part of an interdisciplinary team. Both experienced and newly credentialed dietitians are encouraged to apply. The role includes conducting nutritional assessments, developing and monitoring care plans, recommending oral, enteral, and specialized feeding plans, coordinating care with healthcare professionals, educating staff and families, maintaining clinical documentation, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. The annual salary is $75,000–$90,000.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential or RD-eligible.
- Strong communication, clinical assessment, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Nice To Haves
- New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) preferred.
- Pediatric nutrition experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or working with medically complex patients is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
- Monitor residents' growth, weight, hydration, nutritional status, and relevant laboratory results.
- Assess nutritional needs and recommend oral, enteral, and specialized feeding plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and communicate recommendations to families and caregivers.
- Provide nutrition education and support to staff and families.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Support initiatives that improve nutritional outcomes and quality of care.
