About The Position

Freedom Pointe at The Villages is seeking a Registered Dietician to work in its Continuing Care Retirement Community, which includes Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Rehab. The role supports older adults by assessing their nutritional status and needs, providing medical nutrition therapy when indicated, and helping residents and families understand nutritional issues. The dietician communicates individual nutrition care plans to other healthcare providers as part of the care team.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Dietician.
• At least two years of experience in a related field.
• Certification in safety and sanitation related to food service.
• Experience performing clinical assessments on residents, meeting with the Care Plan Team, and providing input on MDS.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients’ nutrition status and screen for nutritional risk in accordance with department protocols and standards.
• Plan and initiate medical nutrition therapy when indicated by patient requirements and clinical protocol.
• Educate and counsel patients and families about nutrition, individually or in groups.
• Communicate individual nutritional care plans to other healthcare providers as a member of the healthcare team.
• Perform clinical assessments on residents, meet with the Care Plan Team, and provide input on MDS.
