About The Position

Pediatric Dentistry of CenLA is seeking a caring, motivated Dental Hygienist to provide preventive dental care to children and help make visits comfortable, engaging, and positive for patients and families. The role focuses on clinical hygiene care, patient and parent education, accurate documentation, and teamwork in a busy pediatric dental practice. Applicants must hold an active Louisiana dental hygiene license. Prior pediatric dental experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Active Louisiana dental hygiene license; applicants must be licensed to practice in Louisiana. The license will be requested for review during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental cleanings and preventive hygiene care for pediatric patients.
• Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants as permitted by applicable requirements.
• Take digital radiographs, including bitewings and panoramic images.
• Teach children and parents about oral hygiene, nutrition, and healthy dental habits.
• Complete patient assessments, charting, and accurate clinical documentation.
• Assist the dentist during pediatric procedures as needed.
• Review schedules and help appointments run efficiently.
• Prepare and turn over hygiene operatories between patients.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and keep rooms and sterilization areas stocked.
• Follow infection-control procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Participate in practice marketing and community outreach activities.
