About The Position

Pediatric Dentistry of CenLA is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to support its busy pediatric dental team and help children feel safe and comfortable during visits. Requirements

Hands-on experience as a dental assistant in a clinical dental setting; candidates should be ready to contribute right away.
Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
Strong communication skills to help children and parents feel comfortable and informed.
Reliability and ability to collaborate and thrive in a busy practice.
Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and quality care.
Patience, a positive attitude, and genuine enjoyment of working with children.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures.
Take digital radiographs, including bitewings and panoramic images.
Provide age-appropriate oral hygiene and diet education.
Schedule follow-up exams and help keep the day’s schedule running smoothly.
Prepare and turn over dental chairs and operatories.
Support parent consultations and treatment-plan discussions.
Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain an organized sterilization area.
Restock treatment rooms and supplies.
Follow infection-control procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Support practice marketing and community outreach activities, including referral letters.
