Registered Behavior Technician - New Hire Bonus
About The Position
Our Child Therapy is a small organization in Virginia providing care and support to children. The Registered Behavior Technician works with children and families to deliver Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, implement behavior-based treatment plans, educate parents, and collect data. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, and is performed in person at client homes in Newport News, Virginia. The schedule is Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The listed pay is $24.00–$28.00 per hour. Training is provided, including for candidates without prior experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Experience with children and strong people skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. regularly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders preferred, but not required; training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Work effectively with children.
- Collaborate with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Clinical Director.
- Collect comprehensive data and maintain session reports.
- Implement behavior-based treatment plans.
- Educate parents on classroom support techniques.
- Ensure safety and quality care for clients.
- Establish professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and community resources.
- Maintain training materials and supplies.
- Advocate for children and families and facilitate referrals to community resources.
