Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
About The Position
Judevine's mission is to make a real difference in the quality of life for children and adults with autism and their families. We are currently hiring RBTs for our St. Louis Children's Clinic, with a primary emphasis on Early Intervention. Registered Behavior Technicians/RBTs are responsible for providing direct implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services to children on the autism spectrum to enable them to reach their full potential. RBTs help children improve behavior, communication, social, and functional skills by following treatment plans developed by a supervising BCBA. These plans can include teaching play, listening skills, communication, visual perception, matching, and school-readiness skills. Judevine is looking to hire highly motivated individuals who are either already a Registered Behavior Technician or interested in becoming one for our brand new clinic serving young children, located off Dorsett Road. We offer training for those not yet registered, pay during training, and cover the exam cost, with guidance from a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
Requirements
- Must be able to work independently and/or in a team setting.
- Must stay current with all trainings, certifications, and/or licensure as required for the position.
- Dependable and reliable attendance is a must.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass background screening with Missouri's Family Care Safety Registry.
- Must be willing to accept and learn from training provided.
- If not yet credentialed, this will include 40 hours of training, passing the RBT Competency Assessment, and the RBT exam.
Nice To Haves
- Some college is preferred, but not required.
- Registered Behavior Technician Credential preferred, but we can help with that!
- Experience working with people with autism spectrum disorder is helpful but not a must.
Responsibilities
- Build play-based, cooperative relationships with children to motivate them to seek social interaction.
- Help to teach alternatives to unsafe behaviors.
- Help teach functional communication using pictures, problem-solving skills, and social interaction.
- Increase appropriate behaviors by rewarding safety with extra praise, play, liked items, or snacks.
- Collect data on learning progress and problem behavior.
- Maintain and submit paperwork according to deadlines.
- Follow the treatment plans and interventions provided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Maintain professional relationships with individuals, families, community members, and Judevine staff.
