About The Position

Cranial Technologies is seeking a full-time Regional Traveling Certified Orthotist to join our team. This position will be based out of Stockton, CA, and will travel throughout our Northern California clinics (Sacramento, San Francisco, Mountain View, San Jose, Oakland, Stockton, Fresno). The role involves treating infants to reshape head shapes with the DOC Band® and correct ear shapes with EarWell®. Pediatricians and parents rely on our Clinicians as experts in the evaluation and treatment of plagiocephaly and misshapen ears. This is an exciting opportunity to work outside of traditional orthotics in a niche, pediatric clinical outpatient setting, exclusively with infants and their families, developing strong relationships throughout the treatment process. We hire from diverse backgrounds, recognizing the value of varied experiences, including those of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses, and Certified Prosthetists and Orthotists. While pediatric experience is preferred, it is not required due to our formal training program with mentoring.

Requirements

  • Certified Orthotists only
  • 500 hours of basic orthotic fitting experience with off-the-shelf orthotic devices (e.g. splints, braces, maternity belts)
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience
  • Background knowledge of symmetry and asymmetry, cervical anatomy, torticollis, and infant/toddler development (from PT/OT background)
  • Experience in hands-on patient care and compassion for families, capability to treat the whole patient (from RN background)
  • Hands-on experience with orthotics and direct patient care (from CPO background)

Responsibilities

  • Treat infants to reshape head shapes with the DOC Band®
  • Correct infant ear shapes with EarWell®
  • Serve as an expert in the evaluation and treatment of plagiocephaly and conditions involving misshapen ears
  • Develop strong relationships with families throughout the treatment process
