About The Position
Cranial Technologies is the world's only company dedicated to researching and treating plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome), with over 500,000 babies successfully treated. They are the leader in pediatric cranial shaping orthoses. The company also provides the EarWell® treatment for infant ear shape correction without surgery, having achieved over 600,000 successful outcomes. This full-time position involves travel throughout California clinics, with approximately 30% overnight travel. The role is in a pediatric clinical outpatient setting, working exclusively with infants. It offers a unique opportunity to specialize in a non-traditional, niche area of orthotics, treating infants with the DOC Band® for head shapes and EarWell® for ear shapes. Clinicians are considered experts in the evaluation and treatment of plagiocephaly and misshapen ears, building strong relationships with families throughout the treatment process. The company hires from diverse backgrounds, valuing the unique contributions of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses, and Certified Prosthetists and Orthotists. While pediatric experience is preferred, it is not required due to a formal training program with mentoring.
Requirements
- Certified Orthotists only
- 500 hours of basic orthotic fitting experience with off-the-shelf orthotic devices (e.g. splints, braces, maternity belts)
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric experience
- Background in pediatrics
- Background knowledge of symmetry and asymmetry, cervical anatomy, torticollis, and infant/toddler development (from PT/OT background)
- Experience in hands-on patient care and compassion for families, capability to treat the whole patient (from RN background)
- Hands-on experience with orthotics and direct patient care (from CPO background)
Responsibilities
- Treat infants to reshape head shapes with the DOC Band®
- Correct infant ear shapes with EarWell®
- Evaluate and treat plagiocephaly
- Evaluate and treat conditions involving misshapen ears
- Develop relationships with families at every stage of their treatment process
