About The Position

Cranial Technologies is the world's only company dedicated to researching and treating plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome), with over 300,000 successful baby treatments. They are the leader in pediatric cranial shaping orthoses. Cranial Technologies also offers the EarWell® treatment for infant ear shape correction, with over 600,000 successful outcomes. This full-time position is based in Sacramento, CA, and requires travel to Northern California clinics (Sacramento, San Francisco, Mountain View, San Jose, Oakland, Stockton, Fresno), with some overnights expected. The role is in a pediatric clinical outpatient setting, working exclusively with infants. This is a unique opportunity to specialize in a non-traditional, niche area of orthotics, working with infants and their families. Clinicians treat infants to reshape head shapes with the DOC Band® and correct ear shapes with EarWell®, acting as experts in the evaluation and treatment of plagiocephaly and misshapen ears. The company values diverse backgrounds and notes that PTs, OTs, Registered Nurses, and Certified Prosthetists and Orthotists are all excellent fits. Pediatric experience is preferred but not required due to a formal training program with mentoring.

Requirements

  • Certified Prosthetist-Orthotists only
  • 500 hours of basic orthotic fitting experience with off-the-shelf orthotic devices (e.g. splints, braces, maternity belts)
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience
  • Background knowledge of symmetry and asymmetry, cervical anatomy, torticollis, and infant/toddler development (from PT/OT background)
  • Experience in hands-on patient care and compassion for families, capability to treat the whole patient (from RN background)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat plagiocephaly
  • Evaluate and treat conditions involving misshapen ears
  • Develop relationships with families throughout the treatment process
