About The Position

The Division of Family & Community Services is seeking to hire an energetic and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Regional Training Administrator for a regional office. This position supervises and administers the activities of professional staff providing training to casework staff who provide services to applicants seeking public assistance or referrals. The Division helps Illinois residents by connecting them with many programs and services. Through our programs, services and prevention efforts, the Division improves the health and well-being of individuals and promotes self-sufficiency and integrity of families of Illinois. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with higher level and lower-level positions within the agency. The individual must be able to analyze information from reports and observation, develop training programs for staff and management. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with coursework in a social or human services field.
  • Requires three (3) years progressively responsible administrative training experience in a health or human services organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of professional supervisory experience assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, evaluating performance, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, coordinating training schedules and approving time off.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and goals of public assistance services such as cash, food and medical assistance programs.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in a public assistance eligibility system such as Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES).
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in current social welfare and economic problems of community and individual health, educational and recreational needs and community and state resources.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience utilizing social casework methods, training techniques, and policies and principles gained through human services related college education or employment.
  • Two (2) years of professional casework experience in a social service agency.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Regional Training Administrator.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Develops and revises training programs, tools and desk aids to fulfill employee development needs and/or changes in policies and procedures.
  • Gathers data and information from regional staff and Local Office staff through meetings, questionnaires, and interviews to analyze operational and performance problems, and develops strategies for improvement.
  • Develops and maintains liaison relationships with other Regional Training Administrators, Bureau of Training Development, Policy advisors, Local Office Administrators and Regional staff to fulfill training needs.
  • Conducts staff meetings with local office management and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
