Requirements

  • Proven experience in training, coaching, hiring, or leadership roles
  • Strong passion for employee development and mentorship
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to build trust, provide feedback, and develop high-performing teams
  • Experience working with or understanding CDL drivers, trucking, or construction operations
  • Proficiency with technology and systems (email, scheduling tools, training platforms, applicant tracking systems)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training programs and locations
  • A mindset focused on culture-building, accountability, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred for credibility and hands-on training

Responsibilities

  • Identify, interview, and select top-tier CDL and Ready Mix Operator candidates
  • Lead engaging and impactful new hire orientation and onboarding programs
  • Train and develop Ready Mix Drivers/Operators on safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Mentor, manage, and support plant-level trainers, ensuring consistent and high-quality training across locations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidate experience, coordinating with recruiting and HR teams
  • Travel regionally to evaluate training effectiveness, provide coaching, and support field teams
  • Promote and uphold SRM’s 5 Principles: Safety, Quality, Kindness, Cleanliness, and Go-Getter mindset
  • Foster a strong workplace culture focused on recognition, encouragement, and employee development
  • Support ongoing training programs, performance improvement, and workforce development initiatives
