About The Position
Cadence Academy Preschool is seeking an energetic, creative Regional Substitute Teacher to serve its Lexington and Columbia area schools. The substitute teacher steps in to create a safe, engaging learning environment and supports children’s development in coordination with the school’s educators. The role involves delivering the school’s curriculum and philosophy, documenting children’s daily milestones for parents, observing and building on children’s interests, encouraging positive social skills and behaviors, and helping plan varied daily activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years old.
- Meet all state preschool teacher assistant requirements.
- Flexible and available to step in during business hours.

- Experience as a teacher assistant or in a licensed daycare.
Responsibilities
- Follow Cadence Education’s philosophy and collaborate with educators to deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Document children’s daily milestones and share them with parents.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and leaders to create engaging learning experiences.
- Observe children’s interests, maintain a safe environment, and extend their play through language, toys, and activities.
- Encourage children’s social skills and positive behaviors.
- Help plan a varied daily schedule that includes quiet time, active play, indoor and outdoor activities, and fine- and gross-motor experiences.
