This position will have primary management responsibility, directly or through subordinates, for directing the sales of Abbott Deep Brain Stimulation Therapies products and/or services in a specified region or other major geographical area. The role involves exercising direct supervision over Company sales representatives and acting as a liaison with independent sales rep firms. The manager will recommend, interpret, and implement corporate, division, or organizationally specific policies and procedures, ensuring employee compliance. Key responsibilities include setting and meeting goals, driving continuous process improvement, ensuring quality of services meets customer requirements, and exercising judgment in planning, organizing, monitoring performance, and reporting status. The role requires using best business practices for success and may involve managing processes across regional or organizational lines. Additionally, the manager is responsible for hiring and retaining a diverse, highly qualified staff, providing career coaching, growth, and personal development, and developing staff through critique, instruction, mentoring, evaluation, and coaching. Accountability extends to the performance of subordinates or the work output of managed subcontractors. Maintaining a safe working environment and a strong customer focus is essential. The role also involves preparing annual regional sales forecasts, participating in market potential determination, and preparing sales expense estimates. Planning and managing the DBS sales effort for the assigned region, maintaining contact with major accounts, assisting sales representatives with relationships, and negotiating/closing deals are crucial. The manager will monitor performance, report status, and participate in the development of marketing policy, recommending product/product line revisions and pricing changes. Assistance to sales support/marketing staff in activities like sales promotion, training, and market research for special projects is also expected. Other duties include staying current on field developments, regulatory requirements, company products, markets, objectives, and industry trends, as well as resolving and/or facilitating problem resolution by identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.
