About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Regional Program Manager with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). This position is responsible for managing the Vocational Rehabilitation program for the region, which includes oversight of field units and staff that serve individuals with sensory disabilities (Blind, Low Vision, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf/Blind individuals). This position is responsible for ensuring that federal, state, and regional performance goals are met, and that policies and procedures are fully implemented. Travel will be required for client meetings, outreach/events, and office coverage. The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Requirements

  • Federal and state laws and regulations for Vocational Rehabilitation, rehabilitation principles and practices, budget and fiscal management, and reporting requirements.

  • Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
  • Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
  • Possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on State business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on State business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and oversight of the Vocational Rehabilitation program for the region. Reviews and approves program staffing, personnel actions, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitors performance goals and implements strategies to meet RSA goals and objectives. Analyzes and interprets regional reports and determines course of action.
  • Represents RSA in community partnership/stakeholder meetings, forums, boards, committees, and work groups. Participates in public relations and responds to public and program inquiries.
  • Reviews and approves high-cost cases and policy exceptions.
  • Participates in statewide management activities and program improvement initiatives.
  • Conducts regular meetings with staff within the region to discuss performance and program initiatives.
