About The Position

Alignment Health is seeking a Regional Medical Officer for a field remote role, responsible for clinical operations and financial outcomes across multiple markets. The role involves maintaining and improving Alignment’s clinical model, enhancing medical outcomes, and increasing member satisfaction. The Regional Medical Officer will collaborate with other market leaders to launch and grow new regions. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in senior care.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Hospitalist, Family Practice, or Internist experience preferred, but will also consider graduating residents and fellows.
  • 1+ Years of Administrative Experience
  • 1+ Years of Managed Care Experience
  • Medical Doctorate (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency
  • Medical License in the state in which you are applying
  • DEA license
  • Must be board certified or board eligible in specialty.
  • Career interest in management
  • Spanish speaking

Responsibilities

  • Willingness to conduct home visits two days a week, seeing up to five patients per day.
  • Manage all Alignment employee physicians in the Fresno and Madera Counties market.
  • Serve as the clinical leader for the market, accountable for all clinical outcomes.
  • Maintain a customer-driven passion for excellence, focusing on innovation to improve patient healthcare.
  • Provide strategic and operational direction for performance-based medical management.
  • Manage budget and risk drivers in conjunction with the Regional Vice President.
  • Analyze and report business performance data to the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Act as the IPA Management and relationship holder in assigned markets (e.g., Allcare, Sante Physicians, Kova).
  • Conduct SNF rounds and management for at least one SNF.
  • Oversee Utilization Management and assigned projects.
  • Participate in and advise on the management of all clinical divisions (physicians, NPs, PAs, case management, MAs) within one or multiple regions.
  • Engage in the analysis of local profit and loss performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with non-clinical departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with providers and the network.
  • Hire, develop, and reward staff to support the company’s strategy.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train employees.
  • Assign workload, monitor, and appraise job results.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
  • Direct staff of regional medical officers, physicians, and other clinical management leaders.
