About The Position

BlueWater Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Leader to act as a Southern Regional Medical Director and clinical smokejumper. The provider in this role will be the Regional Medical Director for the 5 locations in BlueWater's Southern Region. They will act as the leader over the Emergency Departments in these sites, with each site-based Medical Director reporting directly to them. Additionally, they will supplement their administrative FTE as a clinical Smokejumper within their region, allocating their clinical time based on need. This position will report directly to the BlueWater Chief Medical Officer. BlueWater Health (BWH) is a growing, independent physician-owned medical group practice. BWH employs over 175 physicians and APPs in 11 facilities (and growing) across 4 states in New England. Requirements

  • Experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Mentorship and leadership support to direct reports (clinical leaders assigned to Emergency Departments within the region, Director of APPs, and Smokejumper physicians).
  • Department meeting prep support and attendance.
  • Hospital CNO/CMO relations.
  • Involvement in local ACEP and state medical society work.
  • Quality bundle compliance.
  • Staffing management (high level).
  • HR management (high level).
  • Support of sales efforts at potential new sites.
  • New site implementation support.
  • Interim site-based Medical Director leadership (when applicable).
  • Collaboration with BW Hospitalist Medicine clinical leadership within the region.
