About The Position

Fort Myers-based Millennium Physician Group is a national leader in value-based healthcare. The Regional Medical Director (RMD) at Millennium Physician Group (MPG) Florida holds a pivotal leadership role, focusing on advancing clinical excellence and operational performance across a designated region. This position involves overseeing physician and advanced practice provider (APP) performance within value-based care models to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care delivery. The RMD also acts as a crucial liaison between MPG and various community healthcare partners, including skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), rehabilitation centers, acute care hospitals, and specialty providers.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with active medical license in Florida.
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated success in managing provider performance and driving clinical outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare delivery systems, population health, and value-based reimbursement models.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification in a primary care specialty preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience in a value-based care setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support physicians and APPs in achieving clinical quality, patient experience, and cost-efficiency goals aligned with value-based care initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze provider performance metrics; implement improvement plans and clinical interventions as needed.
  • Facilitate peer review processes, clinical education, and professional development.
  • Promote evidence-based practices and adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to optimize care delivery models and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with external healthcare entities including SNFs, rehab centers, hospitals, and specialists.
  • Serve as the primary clinical liaison to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination across the continuum.
  • Partner with community providers to align on shared goals for patient outcomes, quality, and cost containment.
  • Represent MPG in regional healthcare forums, coalitions, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of regional strategies that support population health management and value-based care transformation.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in care delivery, including telehealth, home-based care, and integrated care pathways.
  • Support the development and execution of clinical programs tailored to regional needs and patient populations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and internal policies.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support risk management efforts.
  • Collaborate with data analytics teams to leverage insights for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with and take direction from the Chief Medical Officer of the Florida region to align clinical strategies and priorities.
  • Work closely with individual practices and providers to support performance improvement and provide mentorship.
  • Support providers in accurate and timely documentation.
  • Work with Regional Vice Presidents on operational and clinical initiatives.
  • Participate in state and national MPG committees and special projects such as Wellness, IT, Physician Advisory Board, and Compensation.
