About The Position

The RHRC is looking for a highly motivated individual to lead our Regional Liaison Team. In addition to team oversight, this individual will be responsible for managing relationships with rural-relevant stakeholders in their region, including healthcare providers, community organizations, and state and federal entities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel to client locations and relevant events to better understand the needs of the communities served by the RHRC. You will work closely with other RHRC team members and leadership to optimize delivery of services to clients.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a health care leader at the Director level or above.
  • Advanced knowledge of hospital operations, including the ability to understand financial statements, regulatory requirements, and strategic areas of opportunity.
  • General knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation for hospital licensure (CAH, PPS, REH etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and motivate individuals to complete work on time and at a high level of quality.
  • The ability to grasp new concepts quickly and explain complex processes in layman’s terms for understanding of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft systems and comfort using and adopting additional technical platforms as needed.
  • Understanding of matrix organizations and cross functional reporting structures.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, with the ability to execute hands-on.
  • Self‑directed, detail‑oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced, virtual work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive work culture.
  • Must have reliable high-speed internet.
  • Knowledgeable of innovative healthcare solutions.
  • Willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2-3 years of experience as an RHRC Regional Liaison, or similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with the CMS Rural Emergency Hospital Conditions of Participation, in addition to other hospital licensures.
  • Support the development of educational materials and resources as requested.
  • Establish relationships with healthcare providers and other rural community stakeholders, their leadership and support effective communication to governance, community, and various stakeholders, as needed.
  • Provide necessary education to these stakeholders, their communities, state offices of rural health, and other relevant entities on the services available through the RHRC and its various programs.
  • Serve as the liaison between stakeholders and the RHRC to identify technical assistance needs.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and project teams to provide technical assistance to stakeholders.
  • Oversee technical assistance activities being provided in the region.
  • Attend virtual meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential partners and service providers in the region.
  • Serve as the RHRC’s representative in the assigned region to provide boots-on-the-ground insights and strengthen stakeholder relations.
  • Travel to client and stakeholder locations with frequency to manage relationships.
  • Represent the RHRC at relevant events in the assigned region by hosting exhibit booths, attending sessions, and delivering public presentations.
  • Establish relationships with the State Offices of Rural Health (SORH) and Flex coordinators in the assigned region.
  • Provide insights regarding areas of need for technical assistance and resources in the region.
  • Provide supervision and direction to the Regional Liaison team.
  • Assist RHRC leadership with developing and streamlining processes that impact client relations.
  • Provide strategic thought partnership to leadership and other department heads to improve service delivery.
  • Attend virtual RHRC team meetings.
  • Assist with the execution of RHRC program activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
