About The Position

The Regional IT Operations Manager is responsible for the design, stability, security, and evolution of Exaktera’s core IT infrastructure across US based sites. While not a formal people management position, the role provides technical leadership, mentorship, and operational coordination to local IT teams, helping drive consistency, resilience, standardization, security, and reduction of operational risk across the region. The successful candidate should be located on the U.S. East Coast, preferably in the Northeast region, and be able to travel to the Vermont site as business needs require.

Requirements

• VMware vSphere administration in production environments
• Windows Server administration
• Veeam Backup & Recovery
• Enterprise networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing concepts, CLI-based switching)
• Sophos firewall administration (policy management, VPN basics)
• Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
• Active Directory consolidation
• Identity, MFA, and SSO integration concepts
• Incident response collaboration with MDR providers (e.g., Arctic Wolf)
• Experience evaluating and implementing infrastructure improvements across multi-site environments
• Strong technical decision-making and risk assessment capabilities
• Manufacturing or regulated IT environments
• Multi-site or post-acquisition IT integration experience
• NinjaOne or similar RMM tooling
• PowerShell automation (infrastructure-safe)
• SharePoint / Microsoft 365 migrations
• ERP system operational support (Business Central preferred)
• Independent, structured, and reliable working style
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
• Clear technical communication skills
• Ability to mentor and support less-experienced IT staff
• Calm and methodical approach during incidents
• Documentation-driven mindset
