About The Position

The Regional Driver safely and compliantly transports hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to disposal, treatment, and recycling facilities using tankers and dry vans. The position requires adherence to company safety policies, DOT regulations, and environmental requirements while providing professional service to customers. Drivers must be able to stay overnight and often return home every other night. This is an hourly position paid weekly, with overtime opportunities.

Requirements

Current Class A driver's license with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
Clean DMV driving record.
Two years of commercial driving experience, including completion of driver logs.
Working knowledge of DMV and DOT regulations pertaining to hazardous waste transportation.
Ability to crawl, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing.
Ability to sit and drive for long periods.
Ability to lift 50 pounds several times a day.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience driving or operating semi tractors, tankers, and box vans.

Responsibilities

Safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to designated disposal, treatment, and recycling facilities.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate inspection records.
Comply with Department of Transportation regulations and company policies.
Complete and maintain required DOT documentation, including logs, manifests, inspections, and transportation records.
Operate and maintain Electronic Logging Devices in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure shipping papers, manifests, and other required documentation are accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
Follow safety procedures for handling and transporting waste materials.
Communicate with dispatch, customers, and facility personnel about pickups, deliveries, and transportation issues.
