About The Position

The Driver transports hazardous and non-regulated waste, as well as other products, regionally and locally for Veolia PTA. Materials are transported outbound from the PTA Facility to landfills and treatment facilities in and out of state, and inbound from generator and vendor locations. The role also involves moving containers and equipment at the facility and performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and trailers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
• Prior commercial driving experience.
• Familiarity with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Strong team-player skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driving License (CDL), as required.
• Hazmat (H) endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport site-generated waste residuals from the PTA Facility to local and regional landfills in and out of state.
• Transport hazardous waste liquids, solids, and sludges in roll-offs, vans, and tankers to in-state and out-of-state landfills and treatment facilities.
• Transport customer and vendor waste, chemicals, and products from their locations to Veolia facilities as required.
• Move boxes, tankers, and vans between 10-day and empty storage locations at the PTA Facility.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including greasing and minor repairs of trucks and trailers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
