About The Position

The Driver transports hazardous and non-regulated waste, along with other products, locally and regionally for Veolia PTA. Outbound materials include waste residuals generated at the PTA Facility and shipped to landfills and treatment facilities in and out of state. Inbound materials include waste, chemicals, and products from customer, generator, and vendor locations for delivery to Veolia facilities. The role also assists with moving equipment and containers at the PTA Facility and performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and trailers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Prior commercial driving experience.
Familiarity with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Strong team-player skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
Strong customer service orientation.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), as required.
Hazmat (H) endorsement.

Nice To Haves

40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Responsibilities

Transport site-generated waste residuals from the PTA Facility to local and regional landfills in and out of state.
Transport hazardous waste liquids, solids, and sludges in roll-offs, vans, and tankers to in-state and out-of-state landfills and treatment facilities.
Transport customer and vendor waste, chemicals, and products from their locations to Veolia facilities as required.
Assist with moving boxes, tankers, and vans between 10-day and empty storage locations at the PTA Facility.
Perform preventive maintenance, including greasing and minor repairs, on trucks and trailers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
