About The Position
Capitol Distributing is hiring reliable Class A CDL relief drivers to deliver groceries, beverages, and convenience items to stores across nine states. The position covers local, shuttle, team, and overnight routes. Approximately 20% of the work is local, while most assignments involve regional and overnight driving. The role offers a consistent schedule and a career path with a growing company. Drivers work four to five days per week in 10–12-hour shifts. Schedules may include day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekends. Responsibilities include driving trailers carrying frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods; offloading freight; tracking inventory; providing customer service; and following applicable safety standards.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Clean driving record, with three or fewer points in the last 12 months.
- Current DOT medical certificate.
- Doubles endorsement or ability to obtain one within 60 days.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in hot and cold environments.
Responsibilities
- Deliver groceries, beverages, and convenience items to stores across nine states.
- Drive multi-type trailers carrying frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods.
- Offload freight using a pallet jack, hand cart, and totes.
- Track inventory using scanners and follow delivery logs.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Occasionally assist with emergency coverage routes.
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards.
