Performance Contracting employs a variety of skilled trades including Abatement Worker, Carpenter, Fireproofer, Helper/Laborer/Trainee/Utility, Painter, Plasterer, Iron Worker, Millwright, Operator, Plumbing/Piping, Glazier, Boilermaker, Electrical Workers, Roofer, Sheet Metal, and Teamster.

Requirements

  • Must be an active member of the union in good standing (in non-right to work states)
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
  • Prolonged periods standing and working outside

Responsibilities

  • Work or removal of materials that have potential to create hazardous exposure (asbestos, lead containing materials, mold).
  • Perform carpentry work in the construction, installation, erection, maintenance, fabrication and repair of wooden structure and fixtures.
  • Application of fireproofing materials in new and existing commercial construction sites.
  • Prepare work area by transporting needed tools and equipment from storage facility.
  • Load and unload building materials to be used on construction projects.
  • Remove debris and possible hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe.
  • Set up a conventional paint pot and utilize air-assisted and airless paint systems.
  • Mix kits of paint with the most common industrial coatings.
  • Mix and prepare plastering/EIFS materials.
  • Carry and transfer of material and coordinate the staging of the material.
  • Measure, cut and install EIFS substrate, mesh, leveling coats, and finishes for EIFS.
  • Install multi-step plaster systems at the exterior and interior structures.
  • Construction, fabrication, and installation of structural steel and iron components.
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, cranes, and excavators.
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and piping networks.
  • Installation, repair, and replacement of glass in various structures.
  • Skilled construction, assembly, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, and other large metal containers.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs on buildings and structures.
  • Cut, shape, and install various types of sheet metal.
  • Operate and drive trucks or other heavy vehicles to transport goods and materials.
