About The Position

Gordian is a leader in facility and construction cost data, software, and services, specializing in Job Order Contracting, RSMeans data, and Facility Intelligence Solutions. Their solutions help clients maximize efficiency, optimize cost savings, and increase building quality across all phases of the building lifecycle. The Area Manager (ARM) position oversees a sub-section of a region, managing multiple contracts, clients, projects, and Account Managers. On occasion, the ARM may also directly manage job order or project-level tasks for clients.

Requirements

  • Strong background in Construction with 7 years’ experience in the design and/or construction field
  • Experience managing teams of three or more
  • Must be highly motivated, results-driven and organized to manage multiple contracts and people and have the ability to work independently
  • Experience identifying client or staffing issues and the ability to create effective solutions as well as the knowledge of when to escalate
  • Experience in Account Management/Customer Success; knowledge of key concepts including JOC process, plans, deliverables, scope and tasks
  • Working knowledge and experience in the preparation and process of construction bid documents
  • Confident communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of internal and external organizations
  • Sound decision making, analytical and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment; a consultative approach to managing complex client relationships
  • A valid US driver’s license and the ability to travel within assigned territory up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain client relationships at the Director level and above, conducting quarterly check-in meetings to evaluate performance, pipeline, and future opportunities.
  • Assist the Regional Director and lead assigned Account Managers through the new client start-up process within their geographic area.
  • Coordinate the start-up schedule and provide quality control on all deliverables (D&I documents, Gordian Cloud forms/reports, pre-bid presentations, etc.).
  • Ensure all areas of service and deliverables detailed in Gordian’s contract are being met.
  • Track contract and contract option expirations and coordinate with clients and Gordian legal department on renewals.
  • Manage all Account Management and support staff within their territory, including managing MyFortive, Expensify, Kronos, etc.
  • Assist the Regional Director in developing Performance for Growth and Development for Growth goals for each team member.
  • Participate in Gordian’s LEAD program unless previously excused by HR.
  • Assist the Regional Director in the development of the annual budget and provide analysis of historical client volume, current pipeline, and future client budgets.
  • Review and follow developed standard of work for mid-month, quarterly, and yearly financial forecasting.
  • Delegate data collection for forecasting to Account Managers and JOC Coordinator.
  • Provide comments and backup information to the Regional Director on any variants to the budget and mid-month forecast.
  • Assist marketing with access to clients for case-studies, marketing collateral, or Harry Mellon Award of Excellence submissions.
  • Work with the Regional Director to identify all upsell/cross-sell opportunities, assist Planning Conversation Captains with target lists, and coordinate introduction meetings between the sales team and clients.
  • Assist product and other departments with Voice of Customer requests.
  • Oversee the operations team through all Gordian Cloud migrations, understanding proper procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting to the Regional Director (and others as necessary) on migration progress and immediately elevate issues and concerns to the proper department.
  • Assist the outreach team in conducting outreach to the contractor community as required in the region.
  • Assist clients in getting and reporting participation in their Job Order Contracts.
  • Conduct JOC 101 presentations on a semi-annual basis to educate contractors.
  • Coordinate with the JOC Coordinator in creation and distribution of materials associated with contractor outreach.
