About The Position

Midway Mechanical Services is seeking a Regional Controller to lead accounting operations across its Intermountain West business units. Based on-site in Vancouver, Washington, the role oversees financial operations across multiple entities, partners with operations leadership, supports growth initiatives, and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting. It reports to senior finance leadership and contributes to regional strategy and performance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
2–3+ years of leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting.
Experience creating and managing WIP reports and job cost accounting.
Background in construction, HVAC, mechanical contracting, or service-based industries.
Hands-on leadership style and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel occasionally throughout the Intermountain West.

ERP system experience, such as NetSuite or similar.

Responsibilities

Lead month-end and year-end close processes across regional entities.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Monitor KPIs, job costing, WIP schedules, and variance analysis.
Ensure GAAP compliance, including percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
Oversee and mentor regional accounting staff.
Partner with operations leaders to drive profitability and financial discipline.
Support annual audits and compliance requirements.
Implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
