About The Position

The Regional Admission Recruiter builds market position for Samuel Merritt University (SMU) by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business, organizational, and university relationships that lead to increased new student inquiries and interest in SMU degree and certificate programs. This role is responsible for building a stronger image and brand, growing program revenue streams, and contributing to SMU’s overall success. The recruiter will collaborate closely with Admissions, Marketing, Alumni Relations, Faculty, and the Dean’s Office to ensure strategic coordination of all efforts, developing and maintaining strategic, long-term partnerships with corporations, educational institutions, and community organizations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business, communications, education, marketing, English, journalism, or related fields
  • Five (5) years in educational outreach/admission, sales, marketing, business development or related field
  • Background with understanding B2B relationship development
  • Great writing background with the ability to create a compelling narrative
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Automobile insurance
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM systems such as Salesforce or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, with the ability to connect effectively across audiences
  • Strong customer service orientation, with cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences
  • Evidence of teamwork and collaboration, with a focus on achieving shared goals and supporting team success
  • Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and remain composed under pressure
  • Consistent record of maintaining a positive, solutions-focused, and supportive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Create, execute and maintain a business development portfolio and continuously develop interest and inquiries for degree and certificate programs, and conveys the Samuel Merritt University mission, program and strategic initiatives
  • Develops and executes quarterly strategic plan
  • Develops and maintains long-term relationships, with corporations, schools and community organizations partnering with them in meeting their educational goals
  • Demonstrates thorough program knowledge as well as industry trends
  • Able to provide solutions to meet partner’s needs
  • Collaborates and marketing, admission’s, program directors and deans to develop strategies around lead generation
  • Works directly with students to educate them on the SMU program offerings and the admission’s process
  • Maintains accurate documentation of all activities, contacts and accounts in CRM (Salesforce)
  • Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or directed
  • Interacts with prospective students to provide advice and support
  • Collaborate with decision-makers/leadership of partner, prospective partner, and community organizations to develop and maintain a business development portfolio
