About The Position
This is a Refund Audit Reviewer and Trainer - Tax Law Specialist position in the General Tax Administration Program's, Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process, Refunds Unit. The incumbent performs analysis of refund cases to determine tax law application or procedures. Additionally, the incumbent provides training, research, analyzes, interprets, and applies tax laws, rules, court decisions, and department policies. The incumbent also serves as a leader and may be required to appear in court as a witness.
Requirements
- Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
- Six years of tax auditing experience.
- Experience working within the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Nice To Haves
- Experience performing corporate tax and insurance premium audits within the General Tax Administration Program.
- Experience researching Florida statutes and administrative codes.
